Software Engineer, Tech Lead
- PresentI serve as a Tech Lead for the Beacon Design System, focusing on component architecture and library APIs. I contribute to the future of the design system by assisting with the project roadmap and guiding the team in defining a strong set of reusable, maintainable patterns that help make our components the best they can be. Notable projects include: implementation of a fluid type and spacing system; architecting the Experience Layer component foundation used in global CMS templates; and creating the AI chat interface components.
Associate Software Engineer
-I developed web components for the Beacon Design System, working closely with designers to implement components according to their specifications. I assisted consuming teams in their applications at all stages of the adoption process. Notable projects include: architecting the Beacon CSS utility framework and components such as Tables and Data Visualization; refactoring Style Dictionary configurations to support modern, cross platform design tokens; and devising the deprecation strategy for component properties and style tokens when structural changes have downstream impacts.
Web Developer/Designer
-I managed a WordPress multisite network for the arts department, designing and developing sites, PHP templates, and child themes to meet the needs of the department. Students and staff contribute to the site, so I kept regularly updated structured documentation for everyone.
Senior Technical and Compliance Specialist
-Half of my duties were conducting technical reviews for web-based products and promotions, ensuring best practices in performance and accessibility. The other half was monitoring the health of our domains, acting on any blacklisting reports and working with the marketing team to address compliance issues on the part of our affiliates. I stayed up to date on industry developments, helping teams stay informed on changes and opportunities.
Marketing Production Coordinator
-I managed the email channel, driving conversions and engagement. I designed and built mobile-responsive email templates, automated workflows, managed lists, and improved our HubSpot deliverability score from a 1 to a 67 (avg. score = 50), greatly improving channel effectiveness. I headed SEO, including maintaining our keyword database and Moz Pro reporting.
